Stuffed Toys

We visited Conrad Algarve in October 2024 and were delighted to find their signature toy: a small brown teddy bear. We purchased one with a hoodie from the hotel shop for 7.50 EUR. Later, the friendly shop assistant informed us that they had another version with a shirt featuring a more visible Conrad Rabat logo. We returned to the shop and were pleasantly surprised to receive the second teddy bear as a complimentary gift.

Hotel Review

The resort itself is calm and peaceful, making it a great place to relax. With its beautiful pools and lovely gardens, it offers the perfect setting for a stress-free getaway. When we arrived, we were greeted with a thoughtful welcome gift— a bottle of wine and some tasty local honey cookies. This small gesture made us feel special right from the start. Our room had a nice view of the pool, which added to the relaxing vibe.

If you enjoy fine dining, the resort is home to Gusto by Heinz Beck, a Michelin-starred restaurant. This is a great option for those who want a top-quality dining experience without leaving the hotel.

While our stay was memorable, there are a few aspects that future guests may want to consider. First, while the breakfast provided was fresh and of high quality, the selection wasn’t as extensive as we had expected for a five-star resort. However, the option to order egg dishes helped to round out the breakfast experience.

Our room, while comfortable and clean, was relatively dark and didn’t have the luxurious feel that you might expect from a top-tier resort. However, the view of the pool and amazing balcony did compensate somewhat for this.

One thing to be aware of is that the beach is not directly on the resort’s doorstep. It’s about a 10-minute drive away, but the hotel provides a shuttle service for guests. Do keep in mind that there is an extra fee for using sunbeds, parasols, and water at the beach, which could add to your expenses during your stay.

As for the cost, staying at Conrad Algarve is certainly an indulgence. Room rates start at 350 EUR per night in October and rise to around 500 EUR per night in the summer. For Hilton Honors members, room rates vary between 52,000 and 90,000 points per night for a standard room, depending on the season. It’s worth noting that while Algarve is generally considered an expensive region in Portugal, the rates at Conrad Algarve are on the higher end, even when compared to other five-star hotels in the area. This could be a point of consideration for those looking to balance luxury with value.
