Conrad Bora Bora Nui is a unique resort in French Polynesia. If you’re seeking a luxurious property with exceptional service, white sand beaches, and turquoise waters teeming with underwater life, this is the perfect destination for your vacation.
Booking
To maximize the value of your stay, consider booking with Hilton Honors points. Take advantage of the Hilton promotion where you pay for 4 nights and stay for 5. In 2024, one night can be booked for 120,000 points, meaning 5 nights with the promotion will cost you only 480,000 points.
Stuffed Toy
Despite all the claims circulating, the Conrad Bora Bora Nui also has a teddy bear mascot —a very special white bear wearing a typical French Polynesian shirt and even a Conrad inscription on its leg.

Hotel Review
The only way to reach Conrad Bora Bora Nui is by boat. The hotel arranges transfers from Bora Bora Airport to the resort and back for 18,000 XPF (around 165 USD).
The resort is stunningly large, where you truly need a map to navigate at least at the beggining of your stay. We loved walking to the highest point of the resort, the Mt. Otemanu viewpoint. From there, you can admire the mountain on the main island, and on the other side, you are close to the wedding chapel, the resort spa, and a panoramic view of the entire Conrad property with its villas nestled in greenery and overwater villas in the Pacific Ocean. On the other side of the property, you can reach the two presidential villas and villas with Mt. Otemanu views. Given the resort’s size, the complimentary bikes available throughout the property are a great convenience.
The most important words you’ll definitely learn here are “Ia Orana” for greetings and “Mauruuru” for thank you. You’ll hear these words in most conversations—no way to avoid learning them! The team is very nice throughout the property. You have a personal host, similar to the Maldives, who can be contacted via WhatsApp (make sure to get the app before your trip if you don’t use that messenger already). It’s sometimes easier for communication.
We stayed here in total 8 nights in June 2024. We booked five nights with 480,000 points, considering the 5th night free offer and three nights with free night certificates—many thanks to Amex. With room rates exceeding $1,200 per night, it was a fantastic value for our points. We were fortunate to be upgraded to an overwater villa.
The standard overwater villa features a lovely bedroom with a couch and coffee table, an amazing bathroom, and a walk-in closet. Daily housekeeping and turndown service are standard, with turndown service leaving two bottles of water, and sometimes housekeeping does the same. The room also has a large terrace with two sun loungers, a table with two chairs, a net hammock over the water, and access to the water by a ladder. It’s indeed a beautiful design.
Gold and Diamond members can enjoy a complimentary buffet breakfast. There’s a nice selection of cold cuts and hot dishes, and you can even have a crepe made for you at a live-cooking station. However, there’s also a paid menu where you can order omelets, poached eggs, etc., which are quite pricey at $15-$25. A glass of bubbly is around $30. For dinner, there are different restaurants offering tastes from around the world. You can also grab food at the pool bar during the day, like a burger, which is really nice. Price point for two burgers and two lemonades: $100.
The island looks large on the map, but you can only leave the resort by boat. There are two free boats per day going to the main island of Bora Bora, where you can stay for three hours, maybe have a bite, or go shopping at the supermarket. “Chin Lee” supermarket has great offers at fair prices (for French Polynesia). However, if you want to dine on the main island, the evening transfer boat is not complimentary, costing around $60 for the round trip per person.
If you tire of lounging on the beach, by the pool, or swimming in the ocean, you can also participate in daily activities like coconut opening, learning Tahitian vocabulary, playing the ukulele, and more.
It’s definitely a beautiful place, and we enjoyed our stay there. However, it’s hard not to compare it to the Conrad Maldives, which is also famous for its overwater villas and crystal-clear waters. The Bora Bora waters are nice, but we’ve yet to see anything like the Maldives. Here various types of algae are often washed up on the beach. The breakfast selection is also good, but compared to the Conrad Maldives, there’s no contest—the Maldive’s one is way larger and more versatile, and the breakfast is fully complimentary. After four nights, we tried everything at breakfast, and it was starting to get a bit repetitive. It’s also a bit disappointing that you have to request water bottles here, as this should be complimentary in tropical areas, especially at hotels charging $1200 or more per night. Water was never an issue at the Conrad Maldives. Maldives vs. Bora Bora? For us, it’s definitely the Maldives. But that doesn’t mean we’re not enjoying Bora Bora. It’s an awesome place surrounded by nature and completely tranquil.
