Hotel Review
Conrad Washington DC is ideally located in the heart of the city, making it a perfect base for exploring Washington, D.C. on foot. We found the central location incredibly convenient for sightseeing, as we managed to visit many landmarks without the need for transportation.
However, our experience as Diamond members was somewhat disappointing, as this was one of the few U.S. Conrads where we did not receive an upgrade. Our Deluxe Room One King Bed was satisfactory but not exceptional. While it met good hotel standards, it lacked a wow factor. The room, at 416 sq. ft. (38.6 sq.m.), was spacious and featured a floor-to-ceiling window that provided plenty of natural light. The marble bathroom with a rain shower was elegant but did not include a bathtub, which might be a downside for some guests.
We dined twice at the hotel’s Estuary restaurant. Our late lunch was delicious, but the service left much to be desired. Despite the restaurant not being busy, the staff seemed stressed and in a bad mood, which detracted from the dining experience. Breakfast service also highlighted inefficiencies. The restaurant was crowded, and we had to wait 15 minutes for a table. Once seated, however, the service was efficient, and the meal was again excellent.
Overall, we have mixed feelings about our stay at Conrad Washington DC. While the location is fantastic and the front office staff was pleasant, the subpar restaurant service detracted from the otherwise luxurious experience.
