Hilton is stepping into a space that competitors like Marriott and Hyatt have already been exploring for years. With the announcement of Apartment Collection by Hilton, the hotel giant is officially entering the serviced apartment market with a brand designed for travelers who want more space, more flexibility, and the comfort of a real home, without giving up hotel-level service.
You can find the official announcement on Hilton’s website here.
What Is Apartment Collection by Hilton?
Apartment Collection by Hilton is a new lodging category within Hilton’s brand portfolio focused entirely on furnished apartments. Instead of traditional hotel rooms, guests will book studios up to four-bedroom apartments designed for short stays, long stays, and everything in between.
Think full kitchens, real living rooms, separate bedrooms, and even in-unit laundry at many properties, combined with Hilton’s hospitality standards and 24/7 on-site teams.
The first phase of the Apartment Collection will launch in partnership with Placemakr, an apartment hospitality brand specializing in flexible, short-term and extended-stay accommodations in urban and suburban markets across the U.S.
Through this partnership, Hilton will immediately expand its footprint in the apartment-style segment. Hilton already has about 10,000 apartment-style units globally, and the Placemakr deal alone is expected to add up to 3,000 more units. Over the next few years, Hilton plans to grow even further through additional franchise agreements with other multifamily owners.
Apartment Collection by Hilton is expected to open for booking through Hilton channels in the first half of 2026, with the initial properties launching in the U.S. first.
Once live, you’ll be able to book these apartments directly through Hilton’s ecosystem, meaning easier planning and eventually loyalty integration.
What Will the Apartments Offer?
Unlike typical hotel rooms, Apartment Collection by Hilton is built for space and comfort. Guests can expect:
- Studios to four-bedroom furnished apartments
- Full kitchens for real cooking
- Separate living and sleeping areas
- On-site laundry
- Fitness centers
- Communal workspaces and gathering areas
- Select properties with rooftop pools and terraces
- On-site dining and retail at some locations
All properties will be located in high-demand destinations, and Hilton says dedicated team members will be available on-site 24/7.
This makes the concept attractive not only for leisure travelers, but also for digital nomads, families, business travelers, and anyone staying longer than a typical hotel trip.
Conclusion
From our own experience, apartment-style stays make a big difference on longer journeys. When traveling for extended periods, we’ve always had great experiences with Hilton Residences properties in Asia. Most recently, we stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Shenzhen Airport Residences, located right next to the DoubleTree by Hilton Shenzhen Airport, offering fully equipped apartments with real living space.
During long trips, it’s incredibly pleasant to spend a few days in an apartment where you can do your laundry, enjoy more space, and actually feel “at home” instead of living out of a suitcase. The apartment concept is also ideal for larger families or groups who need multiple bedrooms, since booking several hotel rooms can quickly become very expensive.
Now the big question for loyal travelers remains: how will Hilton Honors earnings work for Apartment Collection by Hilton? Will points and elite benefits be reduced like we’ve seen with Marriott Bonvoy’s Homes & Villas?
