Waldorf Astoria Openings 2025–2027: New York, Shanghai, London and More

Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts is expanding its global presence, with 2025 shaping up to be a milestone year for exciting new openings and even bigger plans ahead. Join us on a journey to discover what’s next…

A Strong Start to 2025

After years of careful restoration, the legendary Waldorf Astoria New York officially reopened in July 2025. Known as the “unofficial palace of New York,” the landmark hotel is once again welcoming guests on Park Avenue, bringing back its timeless glamour while introducing modern luxury touches.

The brand hasn’t stopped with New York. Waldorf Astoria Osaka and Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique both opened in April 2025, adding two very different but equally exciting destinations to the portfolio. Osaka brings world-class luxury to Japan’s cultural capital, while Costa Rica’s Punta Cacique property offers sweeping Pacific views and a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure.

In August 2025, Waldorf Astoria Helsinki officially opened its doors, following the rebranding of the former Hotel Maria. This is the first hotel under the prestigious Waldorf Astoria brand in both Finland and the entire Nordic region.

Next up is Waldorf Astoria Shanghai Qiantan, set to debut on October 21, 2025, as the brand’s second property in the city,
