The days of Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa as a Hilton-branded property are officially coming to an end. For fans of secluded island resorts, this is bittersweet news and for us personally, a change we are genuinely unhappy about.
Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa will exit the Hilton portfolio at the end of 2025. From January 2026, the resort will no longer be bookable through Hilton channels, including Hilton Honors.
While the official confirmation may feel sudden, this development has been anticipated for some time. The first rumors started circulating already in summer 2025, when it became known that the management contract between Hilton and the resort owner, a Maldivian hospitality group, was expiring. Following the end of Hilton’s management agreement in 2025, the owner decided to take back full control of the property.
Once rebranded, the resort will operate independently under its new name: Labriz Silhouette Resort & Spa
Why Hilton Seychelles Labriz Was So Special
What makes this change particularly disappointing is that Hilton Seychelles Labriz is truly one of a kind, not just within the Hilton portfolio, but also among resorts in the Seychelles overall.
The resort is the only hotel on Silhouette Island, where 93% of the island is protected as a national park. The island is known for its mountains, tropical rainforest, and quiet beaches, offering a lot of space and a calm, natural atmosphere that has become rare in luxury travel today.
Hilton Seychelles Labriz features 115 spacious villas, thoughtfully spread across the island. Some are nestled deep in tropical gardens, while others offer direct beach access, just steps away from the ocean.
Despite its size, the resort always felt peaceful and uncrowded, perfectly mixing comfort with nature. It was a place where you truly felt removed from the outside world.
For travelers who love secluded islands, raw nature, and a sense of total escape, Hilton Seychelles Labriz delivered something very special, an experience that simply cannot be replicated on the main island of Mahé.
To be fair, as much as we loved Hilton Seychelles Labriz, the resort was not without its flaws and it’s important to mention them for a realistic picture.
The resort originally opened in 2011 and underwent a major renovation in 2020. Overall, the villas were well maintained and the main living areas featured a very pleasant, tropical design. However, the bathrooms felt noticeably less modern. Their all-white design looked somewhat dated and didn’t fully match the warmth and elegance of the bedroom areas.
Breakfast was another mixed experience. The main breakfast buffet at Café Dauban offered an extensive selection, but in practice it was often crowded and noisy, especially during peak hours. While there was plenty of choice, the flavors themselves felt rather average for a resort of this caliber.
That said, we much preferred the Executive Breakfast for Diamond Members at Portobello. This quieter, à la carte experience came with an amazing view, attentive service, and a far more relaxed atmosphere, a clear highlight of the stay for us.

How Other Hilton Properties in Seychelles Compare
Most Hilton properties in the Seychelles are located on Mahé, the main island and while many are excellent, they offer a completely different atmosphere compared to Labriz.
DoubleTree by Hilton Seychelles – Allamanda Resort & Spa
We stayed here in summer 2021, and at that time the property felt quite outdated. While the location was pleasant, it did not leave a lasting impression compared to other Hilton resorts in the region.
Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa
This is a beautiful resort with excellent service and room rates often similar to Hilton Labriz. We still have great memories of our 2021 stay. However, the resort is relatively small, and exploring the surrounding area on foot wasn’t particularly enjoyable due to roadside walking. Renting a car is almost essential to fully experience Mahé.
Mango House Seychelles, LXR Hotels & Resorts
We visited Mango House shortly after its opening in 2021, perhaps a little too early. While the property is very stylish and distinctive, our experience with service was mixed. That said, it remains one of the most design-forward and character-rich resorts in the Seychelles.
Canopy by Hilton Seychelles Resort
Opened in March 2024, this newer Hilton property on Mahé has been receiving very positive reviews. It’s a fresh and modern addition to Hilton’s Seychelles lineup, but again, it lacks the secluded island feeling that made Labriz so unique.
The Only True Hilton Island Alternative: Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte
At the moment, the only Hilton-branded resort on a truly secluded island in Seychelles is Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island. It is an incredibly beautiful and exclusive resort, offering vast space, pristine nature, a turtle sanctuary, and a genuine private-island atmosphere.
However, it comes with a completely different price tag, with room rates starting at around €1,100 ($1,290) per night. In addition, guests must factor in a flight transfer from Mahé costing about €700 ($820) per person, and dining at the resort is also significantly more expensive.
In comparison, Hilton Seychelles Labriz offered a more accessible entry point to a secluded island experience, while Waldorf Astoria’s villas provide significantly more space, a stronger sense of luxury, and a completely brand-new resort environment.
Conclusion
Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa is leaving Hilton world at the end of 2025. It was not just another luxury resort, it was a rare gem within both Hilton’s portfolio and the Seychelles hotel scene.
While we are curious to see how Labriz Silhouette Resort & Spa will evolve as an independent property, we can’t help but feel nostalgic about what Hilton Seychelles Labriz represented for island lovers and Hilton Honors fans alike.
